Job summary

University of Southern Indiana is seeking an Assistant Director of Development in Evansville, IN to cultivate annual, major, and planned gifts and manage the USI Foundation’s communications.

Responsibilities include planning annual giving campaigns, donor communications, and developing cases for support, with a focus on digital fundraising and donor stewardship. Standard hours and occasional travel apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; 2–4 years related work experience.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently with initiative.
• Demonstrated ability to positively interact with diverse audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of computers, Microsoft software, and donor/prospect database.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, design, and implement annual giving campaigns.
• Implement comprehensive annual giving efforts with personalized emails and calls.
• Develop and execute targeted solicitations for donor audiences.
• Cultivate and solicit gifts across all levels of the gift process; minimum 20 donor interactions per month.
• Manage a portfolio of donors and prospects; primarily digital/virtual fundraising.
• Oversee digital and online fundraising including crowdfunding.
• Draft donor-facing content and coordinate communications material.
• Assist in developing cases of support; ensure consistent messaging across donor segments.
• Monitor campaign performance and generate ROI reports; suggest improvements.
