Job summary

Association of Fundraising Professionals is seeking a Director of Advancement Operations to provide strategic leadership for fundraising systems, governance, and processes. You will design scalable infrastructure that enables fundraising performance and supports organizational growth, overseeing data, CRM governance, prospect research, gift processing, compliance, and reporting.

Manage department budget and serve as the primary financial liaison.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, Public Health, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in advancement and fundraising operations, systems administration, business operations, revenue operations, or related fields.
• 5+ years of demonstrated experience with CRM platforms, preferably Salesforce, including administration, configuration, and user management.
• Proven experience designing and implementing operational processes, systems, and procedures that improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Strong expertise in data management, analytics, and reporting.
• Experience managing budgets, procurement, vendor relationships, and financial analysis at departmental or operational level.

Responsibilities

• Oversee planning and implementation of operational improvements to support fundraising effectiveness.
• Manage reporting, analytics, and performance-tracking systems for visibility into performance.
• Manage Advancement department budget and procurement processes.
• Monitor performance and drive continuous improvement for efficiency and quality.
• Establish operational frameworks and standards for consistent fundraising execution.
• Drive governance, policies, and performance standards for fundraising operations.
• Lead data governance, BI capabilities, and analytics to support decision making.
• Ensure compliance with fundraising regulations, governance, and reporting requirements.
• Build and lead a high-performing operations team with coaching and development.
• Partner with Legal, IT, Finance, Compliance to mitigate risks.
