Job summary

Veolia in North America is seeking an Operator II to maintain water and wastewater treatment facilities in Newport, RI. The role focuses on monitoring conditions, collecting samples, recording data, and operating treatment equipment to meet permits and quality targets.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate's degree in a science or technical area strongly preferred.
• 2–5 years of experience in water/wastewater treatment or related field.

Responsibilities

• Monitor operating conditions, meters, and gauges.
• Collect and test water and sewage samples.
• Record meter and gauge readings and data.
• Operate treatment equipment to purify water or process waste.
• Clean and maintain equipment, tanks, and work areas.
• Inspect equipment regularly and ensure safety standards are met.
• Follow EPA regulations and site safety policies.
• Respond to potential process issues and alarms.
