Job summary

Veolia in North America seeks an Operator to maintain water and wastewater treatment, processing, disposal and testing equipment to meet permit and operational requirements.

You will monitor operating conditions, collect samples, record data, operate purification equipment, and ensure safety while working in an on-site operations environment; overtime and outdoor work may be required, and a valid driver's license and Rhode Island license are needed.

Qualifications

• High School education or GED.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
• Basic math ability; associate degree in science/technical area preferred.
• 2–5 years’ experience in water/wastewater environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor operating conditions, meters, and gauges.
• Collect and test water and sewage samples.
• Record meter and gauge readings and operational data.
• Operate equipment to purify and clarify water or dispose of waste.
• Clean and maintain equipment, tanks, and work areas.
• Inspect all equipment regularly.
• Follow EPA regulations and safety standards.
• Work 100% in the operations environment.
