Job summary

You will collaborate with transport engineers on Georgia projects, focusing on traffic signal design, ITS planning, and pavement markings, while producing concise reports to inform safety and efficiency. Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of post-education experience, Engineer in Training certification, and knowledge of DOT guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or closely related discipline.
• 1 to 3 years of post-education engineering experience with traffic design.
• Engineer in Training Certification.
• Knowledge of DOT advisory circulars and procedures.
• Knowledge of traffic engineering principles, practices, process, and design/build related to traffic control equipment.
• Ability to coordinate with agency regulators and understand requirements.
• Familiarity with roadway construction laws, codes, and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze data from sites, surveys, GIS data, maps for project development.
• Support investigation of site conditions to ensure compliance with regulations and permits.
• Assist with traffic modeling, design requirements, and operating strategies for safety and efficiency.
• Work with cross-functional teams to layout roadways, establish reference points, and estimate costs and materials.
• Assist in traffic counts and capacity/safety improvement analyses.
• Prepare data visuals and reports to present findings and recommendations.
