Job summary

CMES, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer with DOT experience in ITS, traffic signals, or highway lighting to support the Smart Road Technology division in delivering critical infrastructure across Metro Atlanta and the Southeast.

The role is based in Norcross, GA, with responsibilities spanning estimating and operations, requiring boots-on-the-ground readiness as projects demand. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of Project Engineer experience in DOT or heavy civil construction, and strong

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Project Engineer experience in DOT or heavy civil construction.
• Strong ability to read and interpret civil and electrical plans and cross-sections.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager with estimating and operations tasks.
• Prepare quantity takeoffs using Bluebeam or manual methods and set up estimates in Heavy Bid.
• Create profiles, cross sections, drawings, and coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Assist with issuing POs, subcontracts, RFIs, change orders, and submittals.
