Job summary

BestDrive in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Retread Technician to inspect tires, analyze casings, and take steps to repair or rebuild CLT and Medium Truck tires. You will follow Conti procedures to insulate, retread, and cure casings, ensuring airtight seals and quality results for customer fleets.

The role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and strong communication. Typical hours are 7am-5pm with safety protocols in place; benefits and growth opportunities are offered by a global leader.

Qualifications

• The ability to work in a fast paced, customer service-oriented environment.
• Ability to work on a team and independently.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Inspect casings using Conti tools, procedures, and work instructions.
• Run casings through the shearography machine, analyze results and grade the casing.
• Buff the remaining tread of the casings using Conti procedures.
• Apply tread to the prepared casing using Conti tools and methods.
• Assemble envelope, install inner envelope and ensure an airtight seal for curing.
• Vacuum test the envelope and repair any casing injuries.
• Load the curing chamber and set proper curing parameters.
• Inspect casings again using established tools and procedures.
• Communicate with BestDrive sales and end-user fleet personnel for task completion.
• Complete necessary paperwork legibly.
• Comply with OSHA regulations and safety requirements.
