Job summary

Dimensional Innovations seeks a Technical Designer II to bridge design and production in Overland Park, KS. You will produce models, drawings, and toolpaths while preserving design intent for fabricators and clients.

Reporting to a Senior Design Engineer, you’ll lead smaller projects, mentor teammates, and coordinate with project managers, designers, and production to ensure high-quality results and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Themed Entertainment Design, or Mechanical Engineering required.
• 3-5 years of experience in Design Engineering or equivalent.
• SolidWorks proficiency including top-down/in-context modeling; Adobe Illustrator experience; Rhino/Grasshopper a plus.

Responsibilities

• Use SolidWorks to create high-quality engineering models, drawings, and toolpaths.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Designers, and Production staff; communicate effectively.
• Lead smaller to mid-sized projects as workload requires.
• Maintain design intent and ensure components meet industry standards.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and support production during fabrication.
• Coordinate install details with Install team to ensure accurate execution.
