Job summary

BAC Corporate Office in Jessup, MD is offering a paid co-op opportunity in engineering to automate cooling tower structural design. You will work with Excel, Mathcad and real templates to extract design rules and turn them into actionable code.

Join our team to translate engineering logic into clear algorithms, build automation scripts in Python or VBA, and document workflows with flowcharts. The internship focuses on hands-on practice and validation against real designs.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing Civil Structural, or Mechanical Engineering (junior, senior, or M.S.).
• Comfortable with Excel (bonus if you know VBA)Some coding experience (Python preferred, MATLAB works too)
• Strong problem-solver who enjoys figuring out how things fit together
• Interest in the crossover between engineering design and automation

• Schedule: Monday- Friday 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
• Paid Co-Op
• Dates: January/February 2027 - July/August 2027
• Requirements: Reliable transportation to BAC Corporate Office every day
• Misc: Housing is not provided

BAC Hiring Compensation Range $22 - $28 per hour.

BAC provides additional earnings in the form of overtime as applicable under law.
