Job summary

Baltimore Aircoil Company, Inc. is offering a full-time, temporary co-op position in Jessup, MD, from June/July 2027 to November/December 2027.

You will work with the Emerging Technologies team to develop and validate new thermal energy storage and related technologies, and help design test modules and performance testing equipment. The role requires CAD proficiency, hands-on machining experience, and knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and data acquisition.

Qualifications

• Majoring in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Mechatronics, or Materials preferred).
• Seniors or MS students preferred.
• Experience with 2D and 3D CAD; Autodesk Inventor preferred but not required.
• Hands-on machining experience required.
• Working knowledge of design of experiments principles.
• Working knowledge of thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer, and fluid dynamics.
• Working knowledge of data acquisition equipment setup and operation.
• Proficient in Excel; advanced knowledge of Excel VBA, Matlab, or similar programming language preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and run small and/or medium scale performance and reliability testing equipment and procedures.

• Design and assemble small and/or medium scale test modules
• Design and run small and/or medium scale performance and reliability testing equipment and procedures
• Support development of numerical performance modeling tools based on the available data sets
• Identify and qualify alternative design and materials of construction options

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Requirements: Reliable transportation to BAC Corporate Office every day

BAC Hiring Compensation Range $22 - $28 per hour.

BAC provides additional earnings in the form of overtime as applicable under law.
