Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Solar Field Service Technician (Level 2) to perform field maintenance and troubleshooting on solar facilities, be self-sufficient, and advance PV systems expertise. This full-time on-site role is based at the Kermit, TX jobsite with travel as needed.

Responsibilities include safe operation, diagnostics using system monitoring tools, repairing solar equipment, creating documentation, and supporting on-call coverage.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; technical training is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to identify energized and de-energized parts safely.
• Knowledge of safe electrical and mechanical practices.
• Able to operate system monitoring applications and tools.
• Strong written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

• Stresses safety as the top priority and enforces safe practices.
• Perform solar equipment testing, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair with minimal supervision.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems on solar equipment and systems with minimal supervision.
• Use system monitoring apps (Locus, QOS, Vitals, RTDB) to diagnose issues.
• Create tickets from start to finish and track time/materials in Sprocket.
• Prepare accurate documentation and required reports of work performed.
• Provide on-call service at assigned solar facilities.
• Supervise and train Solar Technician Level I when needed.
• Assist with process improvements and coordinate with EPC management.
