Job summary

SMS InfoComm Corporation is seeking a server repair technician to inspect, test, diagnose, and replace parts on servers. You will document all symptoms and test results, and collaborate with motherboard repair and QA teams to ensure quality repairs.

The role requires basic server architecture knowledge, Linux command usage, and the ability to troubleshoot common server errors while maintaining accurate repair records. Physical work in a warehouse environment is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent technical experience; certifications in server support/architecture preferred.
• Experience troubleshooting and diagnosing servers, using tools like email, spreadsheets, and call tracking or shop repair tools.
• Experience with replacing parts on servers and server configuration.
• Good written and verbal communication; ability to document errors and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, and diagnose servers and replace parts as needed.
• Document all symptoms, test results, and parts replaced in shop floor tool.
• Collaborate with MB repair, testing, QC, whole unit repair, and inspections personnel.
• Provide backup for QC, inspection, whole unit repair, and motherboard testing.
• Maintain parts consumption and assist with process improvements.
• Know Linux commands and use terminal; understand basic networking architectures and error codes.
• Troubleshoot common server errors and issues and contribute to end-to-end repair flow.
