Job summary

Employee Magnets is seeking a Server Repair Tech to test, troubleshoot, and replace faulty parts on servers sent for diagnosis and repair. You will inspect and diagnose hardware, conduct stress tests, and document test results and parts replaced in the shop floor tool.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma and technical certifications; experience with server configuration and Linux commands is a plus. The role requires collaboration with repair teams and strong documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with MB repair, motherboard testing, QC, whole unit repair, and inspections teams.
• Provide back up for QC, inspections, and motherboard testing; maintain parts consumption.
• Support process improvements and inter-team collaboration in warehouse operations.

Job description

The Server Repair Tech will be responsible for testing, trouble shooting, and replacement of parts on servers sent for diagnosis and repair.

Responsibility

• Daily Responsibilities
  • Inspect, test, and diagnose servers
  • Replace parts as needed
  • Conduct and analyze server stress tests
  • Document all symptoms, test results, and parts replaced in shop floor tool
  • Collaborate with motherboard repair, motherboard testing, QC, whole unit repair, and inspections personnel
  • Provide back up for QC, inspection, whole unit repair, and motherboard testing
  • Maintain parts consumption
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership

  • Work and collaborate with other teams such as warehouse, shipping, receiving, etc.
  • Follow process for system and parts management

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Education High school diploma or equivalent technical experience, certifications in Server support and architecture desired

Experience troubleshooting and diagnosing servers, experience with computer tools such as email, spreadsheets, and call tracking or shop repair tools

Experience with replacing parts on servers

Experience with server configuration

Good written and verbal skills; needs to document errors and repairs

Industry/Environment: Prefer to have worked in a PC or server type of environment

Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.

Individuals may need to walk for an extensive period of time while working and walking the facilities; to reach over shoulder heights; bend or stoop below the waist; repetitive wrist, hand, or finger movement.
