Job summary

TIC_Craft in Louisiana seeks a skilled rigging technician to plan, lay out and install rigging for lifting equipment in accordance with plans, specs and industry standards. The role requires working on a construction/industrial site with exposure to outdoor conditions and irregular hours.

The candidate will set up and rig large-scale equipment, align machines, guide loads with tag lines, and ensure safety and compliance with project rules while using hand, power, electrical, and layout tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required with relevant field experience.
• Strong working knowledge and abilities for the position.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
• Proficient in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand tools, power tools and layout tools as well as measurement tools.

Responsibilities

• Setting up and rigging large-scale heavy equipment.
• Position, align, or level machines, equipment, and/or structures.
• Shakeout of items for crane hoisting and rigging in erectable sequence.
• Guide rigged items into position using a tag line.
• Estimate sizes, distances, quantities, time, costs, resources or materials needed.
• Inspect subordinate's work for contract/plan compliance and correct deficiencies.
• Select rigging components and develop basic rigging procedures for loads.
• Identify suitable rigging points and select rated rigging based on anticipated tension.
• Maintain understanding of LHE dynamics and hazards.
