Origin Travel Nurses in Downey, CA seeks an Orthopedic Surgery NP/PA to cover a 13-week assignment. Qualifications

• Active California NP/PA license.
• Board certification required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide first assist in complex orthopedic spine surgeries, including fusions and deformity corrections.
• Assist with exposure, retraction, hemostasis, instrumentation, and wound closure.
• Review patient history and imaging to ensure equipment and implants are ready for procedures.
• Support fluoroscopic, navigation, and robotic-guided techniques while maintaining sterile technique and safety.

Qualifications of Orthopedic Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (NP/PA):

Duties/Responsibilities of Orthopedic Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (NP/PA):

• First assist in complex orthopedic spine surgeries, including spinal fusions, decompressions, deformity corrections, trauma, and revision procedures.
• Assist with exposure, retraction, hemostasis, instrumentation placement, and wound closure.
• Review patient history, imaging, and surgical plans; ensure necessary equipment and implants are available.
• Support fluoroscopic, navigation, and robotic-guided procedures while maintaining sterile technique and patient safety standards.
• Apply dressings, assist with postoperative documentation, and communicate patient status during handoff to recovery and inpatient teams.
