Job summary

UNC Health Care invites applications for Per Diem Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant roles in North Carolina. Positions are on-site across multiple Raleigh and surrounding locations, with 12-hour shifts and a flexible per diem/float pool schedule.

The ideal candidate has an accredited NP or PA program, NC licensure, and experience in urgent care or acute settings. DOT certification and EPIC-EMR familiarity are preferred; weekend coverage is required.

Qualifications

• Completion of accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• Experience in acute/urgent care, primary care, urgent care, or emergency room setting preferred.
• NC Licensure or ability to obtain.
• Excellent interpersonal/communication skills and teamwork.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Required procedures: Suturing, splinting.
• DOT Certification.
• OSHA knowledge preferred.
• EPIC-EMR proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Treat episodic illnesses and minor injuries.
• Provide occupational health services and exams.
• Work as part of an interdisciplinary team.

UNCHMG Urgent Care clinics, located in Raleigh, NC and surrounding counties, have Per Diem | Float Pool openings for Urgent Care Nurse Practitioners (FNP) OR Urgent Care Physician Assistants (PA) at multiple locations! Providers are part of an interdisciplinary team and responsible for treating episodic illnesses, minor injuries, and providing occupational health services and exams.

Financial Package:

• Competitive, Per Diem, Hourly Pay Rate
• Not benefit eligible

Ideal Candidate:

• Completion of accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
• Experience working in an acute care, primary care, urgent care, or emergency room setting preferred
• NC Licensure or ability to obtain
• Excellent interpersonal/communication skills, ability to establish rapport with patients & collaborate with team
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Required procedures: Suturing, splinting
• DOT Certification
• Knowledge of OSHA recordables preferred, but not required
• EPIC-EMR

Clinic Schedule:

• Expected .10 FTE Per Diem 12-hour shifts: 2 shifts/6 weeks
• 8am to 8pm: Sunday - Saturday
• Plus, weekends & holidays
• Flexible, Per Diem | Float Pool Schedule
