Job summary

UNC Health Medical Group seeks an Advanced Practice Provider to join the Hospitalists Johnston team in Smithfield, NC. The APP works within an interdisciplinary healthcare team under physician supervision to deliver high-quality, cost-effective patient care.

Responsibilities include comprehensive history and physicals, developing treatment plans, ordering tests, documenting care, educating patients, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited graduate-level Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) program.
• Licensed as an Advanced Practice Provider in North Carolina.
• Board certification if required by the Department.
• DEA.

Responsibilities

• Obtains health history, performs physical assessment, reviews tests and develops differential diagnoses.
• Develops and implements treatment plans including prescribing medications per guidelines and privileging.
• Educates patients and families about condition, treatment, and follow-up.
• Provides instruction to physicians, housestaff, nursing, ancillaries and students.
• Leads quality improvement initiatives and participates in interdisciplinary teams.
