Job summary

University of Florida Jacksonville Physicians, Inc. (UFJPI) seeks an Advanced Practice Provider to deliver direct patient care across inpatient, critical care, clinics, OR, labor & delivery, and ED settings.

The APP will work under physician supervision, perform high-complexity procedures, and contribute to patient triage, care plans, and EMR documentation. Requirements include an active Florida or Georgia APP license, BCLS, ACLS preferred, and a DEA within 90 days for new orthopedic grads.

Qualifications

• Master's Physician Assistant training program required.
• Master's Nurse Practitioner required.
• Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner License required or at time of hire.
• Physician Assistant License required at time of hire.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required at time of hire.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred at time of hire.
• PALS Certified preferred at time of hire.
• New Grads in Orthopedics need to acquire their DEA within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs or assist with high-complexity procedures in office, inpatient unit, operating room, or emergency department.
• May provide education and instruction.
• Monitoring or management of medical/invasive devices and placement of devices within scope of practice.
• Conducts high level evaluation and triage with patient histories, exams, diagnostics, and treatment.
• Formulates comprehensive health management plans with physicians and other health professionals.
• Contributes to development and expansion of programs, research and quality improvement projects.
• Documents patient encounters in the EMR and ensures compliance with billing guidelines.
• Educates and counsels patients/families regarding their health care.
• Calls and responds to consults, handles discharge planning, and schedules procedures.
• Actively participates in meetings and interdisciplinary teams.
