Sr. Clinical Recruiter at Maximus Federal

Maximus Federal has an exciting opportunity for you as a Medical Expert Reviewer.

Peer Review for Quality Management is used to improve healthcare quality and resource utilization in VA medical facilities. Its primary focus is assessing whether clinical decisions and actions during specific encounters meet the standard of care.

Providers must have access to their own computer to complete online training, use MS Word for written reviews, access the VA EMR system to review medical records, and access Maximus’s secure email system for encrypted communications.

Providers can accept or decline cases, must do so within 24 hours, and submit reviews within 3-5 business days (expedited cases within 24 hours).

Qualifications:

• Valid and active license
• 20 hours of direct patient care per month
• Board Certification
• Must have a National Provider Identifier (NPI) number
• Cannot be a VA employee, active-duty military, or provide care in military facilities
• At least 3 years of experience in the relevant specialty post-training (non-MD/DO)

Rate and Service Description:

• $150 per case for Audit Review, Clinical Appeals, and Facility-Requested Review (30 min-1 hour)
• $500 per case for Medical Advisory Opinions (2-3 hours)
• $125 per case for Executive Summary Reports (30 min-1 hour)
• $150 per case for Routine Management Reviews (30 min-1 hour)

Case volume varies from 0-10 cases per month, depending on VA case types and amounts. Providers will be supported in obtaining a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) card and fingerprints.
