Job summary

Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center is seeking an Advanced Practice Professional (APP) to join the Medical Surgical Step-Down Unit. The APP will perform exams, coordinate care, prescribe interventions, and supervise patient discharge in a 24-hour coverage model shared among APPs.

Responsibilities include direct patient care for complex medical/surgical cases, daily rounds with the team, documentation, and participation in quality improvements and research initiatives to advance patient

Qualifications

• The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will be the clinical expert for the Step-Down Unit.

Responsibilities

• Provide/coordinate clinical care for medical and surgical stepdown patients.
• Round daily with attending physician and interprofessional team to assess, plan treatment, and set priorities.
• Assess changes in patient status and institute appropriate interventions.
• Document data in charts and communicate with the care team.
• Support quality improvement activities and clinical research.
