Job summary

Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center is seeking an Advanced Practice Professional to join our Medical Surgical Step-Down Unit team. The APP will provide direct patient care, perform exams, order tests, prescribe interventions, and coordinate care across the team in a 24-hour per diem model.

The ideal candidate will hold a Master's degree as NP or PA, NJ license, and applicable DEA/CDS, ACLS, and BLS credentials, with 2–3 years in critical care or step-down preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree as NP or PA from an accredited program.
• NJ License required.
• DEA and CDS required.
• ACLS and BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for medical/surgical step-down patients and coordinate care with the team.
• Round daily with attending physician and interprofessional team to assess and plan treatment.
• Assess status changes and initiate stabilizing interventions as needed.
• Document results and patient status in the chart and communicate with providers.
• Model competence in advanced NP/PA skills and deliver family-centered care.
• Support quality improvement and IRB-approved clinical research activities.
