Job summary

Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center is seeking an Advanced Practice Professional (APP) to join the Medical Surgical Step-Down Unit. The role involves 12-hour shifts on a per diem schedule, with a 24-hour coverage model distributed among APPs.

The APP conducts exams, prescribes interventions, and coordinates care from admission to discharge. Requirements include a Master's degree as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, NJ license, DEA and CDS, and ACLS/BLS.

Qualifications

• Must hold NP or PA certification and NJ license.
• DEA and CDS licensure required.
• ACLS and BLS certification required.
• 2–3 years of Critical Care or Step-Down Unit experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and computer skills; team player who can work independently.
• Master's degree as NP or PA from an accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for medical and surgical step-down patients.
• Perform exams, orders, interventions, and documentation.
• Coordinate care and discharge planning.
• Round daily with the attending physician and interprofessional team.
• Assess changes in patient status and initiate appropriate interventions.
• Document all relevant data in the chart and communicate with the team.
