Job summary

Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN, seeks an experienced Surgical Tech II to support OR teams across thoracic, vascular, neuro, ortho, transplant and robotics services. You will assist surgeons before, during and after procedures, maintain sterile fields, and ensure instrument readiness in a fast-paced perioperative setting.

Required: NBSTSA CST or NCCT TS-C certification, completion of an approved surgical technologist program, and at least 1 year of related work experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved discipline or completion of a surgical technologist training program during service in the armed forces is acceptable.
• Min. 1 year of relevant work experience.
• Certification from NBSTSA CST or NCCT TS-C is required, with an armed forces program graduate exception.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates patient care by assisting the surgeon before, during and after surgical procedures.
• Plans, sets up, performs and cleans up the assigned surgical procedure as a circulator and scrub tech.
• Performs instrument counts and maintains asepsis in the sterile field.
• Demonstrates knowledge of Principles of Asepsis and sterile technique.
• Additional duties may be assigned.
