Job summary

Vanderbilt Health is seeking a Surgical Tech II to support perioperative teams at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital and affiliated facilities. You will help create and maintain a sterile field and provide instruments and supplies for surgeons during procedures.

Active NBSTSA or NCCT certification is required. Candidates typically bring 1 year of relevant experience and a strong commitment to patient safety and teamwork in a busy operating room environment.

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist credentials required (NBSTSA and/or NCCT).
• 1 year of relevant work experience in perioperative services.
• Graduate from an approved surgical technology program or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates patient care by assisting the surgeon before, during and after procedures.
• Plans, sets up, performs and cleans up the surgical procedure as circulator and scrub tech.
• Maintains sterile field using aseptic technique and performs instrument counts.
• Adheres to policy on sterile processing and OR safety; supports team as needed.
