Qualifications

• BLS minimum requirement.
• ACLS required for critical care, labor and delivery, and emergency department.
• NALS required for neonatal areas; PALS for pediatrics and ED.

Responsibilities

• Run Clinical Orientation and Nurse Residency Program sessions.
• Work with a team of Professional Development Specialists.

• Interpret clinical, technical, and patient data to improve clinical quality.
• Coordinate and direct interdisciplinary health teams in implementing standardized patient-care approaches.
• Direct patient discharge processes, including education and timeliness.
• Redesign care modalities for patient/disease management and resolve quality issues.
• Communicate practice changes and ensure implementation of new policies and forms.
• Evaluate initial nursing skills through observation and chart review.
• Oversee learning and orientation, address education shortfalls, develop preceptors.
• Develop and implement the department learning environment.
• Evaluate case studies and research; develop education to introduce standards of care.
• Implement evidence-based best practices across the system.
• Provide real-time counseling and coaching to the interdisciplinary team.

Requirements

• Masters prepared registered nurse or near completion of advanced degree
• A minimum of 2 to 5 years recent clinical experience in specialty area, preferably at advanced level
• Possess certification relative to specialty
• BLS minimum requirement
• ACLS required for critical care, labor and delivery, and emergency department
• NALS required for neonatal areas
• PALS required for areas with children: Pediatrics and emergency department
• Possess or eligible for Advanced Practice License in State of New Jersey
• Must show evidence of maintaining knowledge and skills through continuing education and independent study
• Must be available for day shift commitments
• No weekend or holiday requirements
