Job summary

VCU Health is seeking a Transport Respiratory Therapist to provide safe, advanced respiratory care for NICU through geriatric patients during external and internal critical transport. You will stabilize and intervene per guidelines and serve as a respiratory care resource for staff and students.

Role includes pre-hospital advanced life support across life spans, educating teams, and stepping in as shift team leader in the supervisor’s absence.

Qualifications

• Licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Respiratory Therapist (required).
• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required.
• Current CPR and NRP certifications (required).
• Additional credentials (NPS, C-NPT, etc.) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform cardiopulmonary assessment and monitoring, including during emergencies.
• Deliver and document routine patient care; administer medications as prescribed.
• Provide pre-hospital advanced life-support care during air/ground transport.
• Act as shift team leader in absence of supervisor and mentor staff.
• Maintain clean, stocked work areas and ensure equipment readiness.
