Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Bath VAMC seeks an Advanced Medical Support Assistant to join the Community Living Center.

The MSA will function in a technical advisory capacity within the CLC and the Geriatrics & Extended Care Line, assisting residents with questions and information related to administrative resolution. The role includes clerical support, coordinating across disciplines and helping residents navigate care access while maintaining liaison with medical staff and community

Qualifications

• US citizenship is required.
• HS diploma or GED required.
• May qualify via Grandfathering provision as described in VA standards.
• Grade determinations: Medical Support Assistant (Advanced) - GS-06.
• One year of creditable experience or equivalent.
• Demonstrates KSAs: advanced healthcare process knowledge and clinical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with questions, complaints and information relating to administrative resolution.
• Perform clerical and administrative support in the Community Living Center (CLC).
• Relate inquiries to appropriate staff and escalate urgent matters.
• Coordinate appointments with care providers and community programs to ensure access to care.
• Maintain schedules and documentation consistent with VA policies.
