Job summary

Atrius Health in eastern Massachusetts is seeking a Medical Assistant II to support one or more clinicians with expanded clinical duties and patient flow management. This role involves coordinating scheduling, preparing visits, handling patient communications, and assisting with care delivery while upholding quality and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED.
• 3+ years in a clinical setting with 1+ years as a Medical Assistant (bachelor's or associate degree may substitute for one year of experience).
• ACLS may be required based on specialty.
• BLS may be required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a higher degree of technical expertise and serves as a role model to Medical Assistants.
• Manages patient flow, access and scheduling for clinicians to optimize appointment availability.
• Coordinates the practice when clinicians are unavailable and ensures calls are answered.
• Handles patient communication including MyHealth messages and documentation needs.
• Supports care delivery and documentation; reviews patient records for completeness.
