Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking an Advanced Marine Welder to support US Navy ships with cabling, equipment, and C5ISR installations across shipyards and naval bases, including travel to Norfolk/Chesapeake areas.

You will read blueprints, cut metal to shape, weld and assemble metal components, and train personnel while maintaining strict safety and security requirements. OSHA 10 and DoD clearance are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years shipboard welding experience.
• Requires DoD Secret security clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Must obtain access to shipyards and pass drug screen.
• Complete Serco welding qualification within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and repair metal components using heavy machinery.
• Review blueprints and cut metal to shape.
• Smooth metal surfaces and finish joints.
• Climb shipyard stairs and work kneeling; lift up to 50 lbs.
• Train personnel on tools and test equipment.
• Wear respirator and PPE throughout shift.
