Job summary

Adecco is seeking an Advanced CNC Machinist for a direct-hire role in the Greater Roanoke, VA area. This is not operator level; you will own complex CNC setups, programming, troubleshooting, and production with minimal supervision.

You will apply multi-axis CNC experience to read blueprints, GD&T, and specifications, set up machines, optimize tooling, and drive quality through precise metrology and process improvements. This is a senior, hands-on role offering growth.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of CNC machining experience.
• Hands-on experience with multi-axis CNC machining.
• Strong CNC programming and program-editing capabilities.
• Ability to independently set up CNC equipment from blueprint through first-piece approval.
• Strong knowledge of tooling, workholding, offsets, speeds, feeds, and machining principles.
• Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and GD&T.
• Proficiency with precision measurement equipment such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and similar inspection tools.
• Strong understanding of machining tolerances and dimensional inspection.
• Ability to troubleshoot machining, programming, tooling, and setup issues independently.
• Experience with CNC mills, lathes, or other advanced machining equipment.
• Technical degree, machining certification, apprenticeship, or equivalent hands-on experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support continuous improvement initiatives and help develop machining best practices.
• Provide technical guidance and training to less-experienced machinists and operators when needed.

Advanced CNC Machinist – Multi-Axis

Greater Roanoke, VA | Direct Hire | Full-Time

We are recruiting for an experienced Advanced CNC Machinist to join an established manufacturing operation in the Greater Roanoke, VA area.

This is not an operator-level position. We are looking for a skilled machinist who can take ownership of complex CNC setups, programming, troubleshooting, and production with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate has strong experience with multi-axis CNC machining and understands the complete machining process from blueprint to finished part.

What You’ll Do

• Set up, program, operate, and troubleshoot multi-axis CNC equipment.

What We’re Looking For

The Ideal Candidate

You are more than a machine operator. You understand why a machining process works, can identify why it isn't working when something goes wrong, and have the programming and setup knowledge to correct it.

You are comfortable taking a new or existing part, reviewing the print, determining the appropriate setup and tooling, programming or modifying the machining process, producing the part, and verifying that the finished product meets specification.

Pay Details: $30.00 to $34.00 per hour
