Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a detail-oriented utility locator to identify, locate, and mark all utilities within defined job scopes. The role requires strong observational and troubleshooting skills and the ability to read CAD, GIS, and MicroStation files.

You will mark sewer, electric, abandoned facilities, and chemical transport sites while maintaining a professional demeanor. Overtime and some overnight travel are expected; a fit-to-work physical examination is required.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of private locating experience or 2 years of public locating experience.
• Experience reading CAD, GIS, and MicroStation files.
• Must pass a fit to work physical examination.
• Over time, after-hours work and some overnight travel.
• Detail-oriented with a professional attitude.

Responsibilities

• Identify, locate, and mark all utilities within the specified job scope.
• Utilize observational and deductive skills to determine utility locations.
• Mark all facilities including sewer, electric, abandoned facilities, and chemical transport.

Job description

• Utilize advanced observational skills and deductive reasoning to identify, locate, and mark all utilities within the specified job scope.


• Possess troubleshooting skills and be willing and able to learn new procedures and technologies.


• Mark ALL facilities regardless of ownership or type, including sewer, electric, abandoned facilities, and chemical transport.


• Maintain a professional and positive attitude while working.

Requirements

• Must have at least 1 year of private locating experience with a demonstrated commitment to quality and attention to detail or 2 years of public locating experience with exposure to multiple utility types


• Experience reading CAD, GIS, and MicroStation files is a plus


• Candidates must be able to pass a ‘fit to work’ physical examination


• Over time, after-hours work and be available for some overnight travel


• Detail-oriented and able to maintain a professional and positive attitude.
