Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a field technician to locate and mark underground utilities across designated areas. You will work in outdoor environments, use field technology, and produce precise locate documentation.

Must be physically able to lift up to 75 lbs, read maps, and communicate clearly with teams and site owners. Overtime and on-call shifts are part of the schedule.

Qualifications

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Willing to pass a drug screen for safety-sensitive role.
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
• Able to read locate tickets, maps and prints.
• Able to walk, bend and lift up to 75 lbs.
• Clear communication with colleagues, customers, contractors and homeowners.
• Proficient with technology and field equipment.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends and on-call shifts.

Responsibilities

• Locate underground telecommunications, electric power, cable TV, gas, water, and sewer utilities correctly, safely, and efficiently.
• Search designated areas thoroughly for underground utilities.

• Photograph each locate.
• Provide clear and complete mark-out services for excavators or property owners.
• Meet 48-hour turnaround times on many locates.

• Locate underground telecommunications, electric power, cable TV, gas, water, and sewer utilities correctly, safely, and efficiently
• Search designated areas thoroughly for underground utilities
• Accurately mark utility locations
• Complete necessary locate documentation
• Photograph each locate
• Work independently in the field using a company‑provided vehicle
• Provide clear and complete mark‑out services for excavators or property owners
• Meet 48-hour turnaround times on many locates
• Work days after holidays and some weekends as needed
• Participate in overtime, weekend, and on‑call shifts, including nights and weekends, based on business needs

Requirements
