Job summary

WVU Medicine Uniontown Hospital is seeking a Hand Therapy specialist to advance evaluation and treatment of hand and upper-extremity conditions. You will collaborate with physicians to optimize outcomes and fabricate orthotics or splints as part of comprehensive care.

The role requires specialized licensure in the applicable states and a minimum of two years’ experience in hand therapy, plus ongoing professional development and staff mentorship.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of hand and upper extremity rehabilitation experience.
• Completion of advanced coursework in hand and upper extremity rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patient needs and develops and implements treatment programs to identify and minimize disabilities and pain.
• Submits accurate charges for services rendered per department policies and EMR.
• Oversees COTAs, students, and volunteers.
• Educates patients and families on injury prevention, home exercise programs, and post-treatment care.
• Develops and implements personalized treatment plans for complex hand diagnoses.
• Fabricates and fits custom orthotics and splints to support healing.
