Qualifications

• Meet job requirements of Distributed System Operator 1 and have at least 6 months Distributor System Operator 1 equivalent experience
• Ability to progress to higher Distribution System Operator classifications
• Sit and stand for extended periods of time; differentiate colors on schematics that relay important system configuration information
• Thorough knowledge of the distribution system and proper operating procedures obtained through formal OCC training
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated analytical skills and judgment
• Ability to respond to emergencies and manage stressful situations
• Ability to work shift work
• Candidate must receive a 'Recommended' result on the SOPD test to be eligible

Responsibilities

• Follow established policies and guidelines to maintain system integrity and reliability
• Gather and analyze system data to determine feasibility of switching requests
• Develop emergency switching plans based on contingencies
• Direct and supervise electrical switching and safety tagging
• Coordinate with operating, construction, customer and contractor personnel for outages
