Job summary

UC San Diego Health is a Magnet-designated academic medical center delivering specialized GI care in a fast-paced ambulatory setting. The Advanced Gastroenterology Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive management for complex GI and advanced endoscopy patients, including new consultations and ECC cases.

The NP independently assesses patients, orders and interprets diagnostics, plans care, and coordinates procedures and follow-up with GI/endoscopy teams.

Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited nurse practitioner program.
Current California RN license and NP license.
Furnishing license certification.
NP specialty certification in aligned area (AANP/ANCC/NCC/PNCB/AACN).

Responsibilities

Provide independent clinical assessment and management of Advanced GI patients.
Coordinate ECC consultations and formal new-patient reviews.
Perform comprehensive histories, physicals, orders, and test interpretations.
Collaborate with Advanced GI/Endoscopy physicians and multidisciplinary teams.
Coordinate procedures and follow-up for complex GI conditions.
Provide patient education and counseling, including telehealth visits.
