Job summary

University of California - San Diego Medical Centers is seeking an Advanced Gastroenterology Senior Physician Assistant to provide comprehensive care for complex GI patients in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

The Senior PA will perform independent assessments, order and interpret tests, develop care plans, educate patients, and coordinate procedures and follow-up under supervision. Strong GI/endoscopy experience and Epic EMR proficiency are preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ARC-PA approved PA program.
• California PA license required.
• Current NCCPA certification.
• Experience with advanced GI/endoscopy preferred.
• Familiarity with telehealth delivery.

Responsibilities

• Independently assess and manage new and established patients in Advanced GI/Endoscopy.
• Coordinate diagnostic evaluations, procedures, and follow-up care.
• Provide patient education and counseling; document in EMR.
• Triages referrals and expedites care through ECC and GI pathways.
• Collaborate with physicians, APPs, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams.
