Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking an Advanced Gastroenterology Nurse Practitioner to provide independent care for complex GI patients in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

You will perform histories, orders, and care plans, coordinate procedures, and educate patients, while collaborating with GI physicians and other teams to ensure optimal outcomes. Telehealth and EPIC/MyChart proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nurse practitioner program.
• Current California RN and NP licenses with Furnishing License Certification.
• Current NP specialty certification in an aligned specialty.
• BLS/CPR certification and plan to obtain BART within 6 months.
• Six months or more experience as a licensed NP.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Advanced GI and Endoscopy procedures such as ERCP and EUS.

Responsibilities

• Independently assess patients with complex Advanced GI conditions.
• Coordinate diagnostics, procedures, and follow-up plans.
• Collaborate with GI physicians, APPs, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Provide ECC and new-patient consultations and manage referrals.
• Ensure timely evaluation, triage, and escalation when needed.
• Deliver patient education and counseling and telehealth visits.
