Job summary

Bowman Consulting Group, Ltd. in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Survey Instrument Operator II to join our surveying team. You will operate survey instruments, perform boundary and topographic surveys, and support field crew leadership in daily tasks.

The role requires 3+ years of survey experience, ability to work outdoors in all seasons, travel, and overtime as needed. Valid driver's license and a commitment to safety are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; commensurate relevant experience considered.
• College or technical courses in mathematics and surveying preferred.
• 3+ years of survey or construction related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform work under direct supervision and follow established procedures. Work is reviewed by senior staff to ensure sound techniques.
• Assist the field supervisor with daily crew workload.
• Work as part of a survey crew performing boundary, topography, ALTA, right-of-way, and construction surveys.
• Set up and operate survey equipment (total-station, data-collector, level, GPS).
• Perform survey calculations and stakeout/locations surveys.
• Maintain survey equipment and keep survey truck stocked with supplies.
• Coordinate and train subordinate personnel; ensure safety regulations are followed.
