Job summary

University Cancer & Blood Center in Georgia is seeking a full-time RN for its new Advanced Endoscopy of Georgia unit. The Endoscopy RN will support daily preop and PACU operations, provide direct patient care, and help maintain a safe, organized environment in accordance with standards and policies.

The role requires a Georgia RN license and BLS, at least two years of clinical experience with PACU, GI, surgery or ER, and the ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure

Qualifications

• Current Georgia RN license and BLS required.
• Two years’ clinical experience preferred with emphasis in PACU, GI, surgery or ER.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient and family understanding of disease process and need for surgical intervention.
• Provide pre/postoperative teaching to patient and family.
• Demonstrate nursing management preoperatively and postoperatively.
• Assess recovery from anesthesia and manage airway postoperatively.
• Monitor and manage postoperative complications such as nausea, pain, and wound care.
• Document patient responses and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
