Job summary

University Cancer & Blood Center/University Health Alliance is seeking a full-time RN for their new unit, Advanced Endoscopy of Georgia. The Endoscopy RN will assist in the daily clinical operations of the preop/PACU in accordance with federal, state and accreditation standards and facility policies and procedures.

Will participate in direct patient care including maintaining a clean, orderly and safe environment.

Qualifications

• Current Georgia RN license is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• Two years clinical experience with emphasis in PACU, GI, surgery, or ER preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient understanding of disease process and need for surgical intervention.
• Performs pre/post operative teaching.
• Demonstrates nursing management preop and postop.
• Assesses recovery from anesthesia.
• Provides airway management postoperatively.
• Manages postoperative complications (nausea/vomiting).
• Provides wound assessment and wound healing care.
• Administers medications safely.
• Manages preop/postop patient complications/emergencies.
• Uses aseptic technique for IV access.
• Initiates and follows procedure protocols.
• Documents patient response postoperatively.
• Participates in quality care initiatives.

Skills

Current Georgia RN license

BLS certified
