Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin's Applied Research Laboratories invites applications for an Electrical/Computer Engineering Research Associate at the Pickle Research Campus. The role focuses on foundational research in electromagnetic propagation, GNSS, and remote sensing with a strong emphasis on computational methods and software development in C++ and Python.

Ideal candidates hold a PhD and have experience publishing work, presenting to diverse audiences, and performing independent research

Qualifications

• PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computational Science, Computational Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or related discipline.
• Experience developing software in C++ or Python for scientific applications.
• One or more years post-graduate experience developing statistical and computational algorithms.
• Demonstrated record of authoring peer-reviewed scientific publications.
• Demonstrated record of presenting scientific content to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-level independent electrical and/or computer engineering research relevant to the interests of SGL.
• Present and publish your research, both internally and externally.
• Contribute to problem formulations, algorithm development, systems designs, and software implementations.
• Implement software algorithms in C++ and Python in a collaborative environment; define interfaces and test cases.
• Further develop knowledge of computational methods, statistical analysis, and software development principles.
• Provide guidance and assistance to other employees and student employees.
