Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing Co., L.P. is seeking a skilled Technician II in Lubbock, TX to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on a variety of fleet equipment. You will work independently on major and minor repairs, conduct road tests, and mentor newer technicians while growing your own skills.

Qualifications

• 3 years of practical experience with vehicle maintenance
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
• Specialized training and experience in the diagnosis/troubleshooting of major components; ASE and 608/609 certifications preferred
• Experience using diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools
• Valid driver’s license required
• Ability to solve problems; strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work well as part of a team; willingness to travel within district
• Must comply with DOT, OSHA and Penske safety and maintenance policies
• Regular, predictable attendance is essential
• DOT-related requirements including MVR checks and DOT drug screening for CDL holders

Responsibilities

• Make sure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers
• Perform preventive maintenance services on trucks and trailers with minimal supervision
• Repair and troubleshoot engines, transmissions, differentials, turbochargers, and fuel systems
• Keep work area clean and safe
• Use Penske tools and technologies to log and complete repairs, including basic diagnostics
• Learn new skills through Penske's technician training
• Work on other projects as assigned by supervisor
