Job summary

Coastal Waste & Recycling is seeking a Diesel Technician B (Advanced Technician) to diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty trucks and equipment. This role emphasizes safety, continuous learning, and teamwork within a fast-growing waste and recycling operation.

You will work with a skilled team to expand your technical expertise, perform preventive maintenance, and contribute to high equipment uptime across our fleet in Florida.

Qualifications

• 1+ years experience maintaining or repairing diesel trucks or heavy equipment.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Must provide and maintain a basic set of tools.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, steering, suspension, transmissions, and air brake systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections to maximize reliability.
• Repair and maintain refuse trucks, vocational vehicles, trailers, and heavy equipment.
• Utilize diagnostic software and electronic testing equipment to identify equipment failures.
• Perform welding, fabrication, and component repairs when qualified.
• Accurately complete repair orders, inspections, maintenance documentation, and parts records.
• Work alongside Diesel Technician A (Master Technician) to build knowledge and skills.
• Respond to emergency repairs and operational needs as assigned.
• Maintain a clean, organized, safe work environment following OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
• Wear PPE and promote a strong safety culture.
