Job summary

Coastal Waste & Recycling, Inc. is seeking a Diesel Technician B (Advanced Technician) to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty trucks and equipment. You will work with experienced Master Technicians and grow toward a Master Technician role while keeping operations safe and reliable.

The position emphasizes hands-on diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and collaboration in a safety-focused shop environment, with opportunities for career advancement.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience maintaining or repairing diesel trucks or heavy equipment.
• Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, brakes, and preventive maintenance.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Must provide and maintain a basic set of professional tools.
• ASE, Brake Certification, Class A CDL, and bilingual ability are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, steering, suspension, transmissions, and air brake systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections to maximize the reliability of our trucks and equipment.
• Repair and maintain refuse trucks, vocational vehicles, trailers, and heavy equipment.
• Utilize diagnostic software and electronic testing equipment to identify equipment failures.
• Perform welding, fabrication, and component repairs when qualified.
• Accurately complete repair orders, inspections, maintenance documentation, and parts records.
• Work alongside Diesel Technician A (Master Technician)s while continuing to build your knowledge.
• Respond to emergency repairs and operational needs as assigned.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment following OSHA regulations.
• Wear required PPE and promote a strong safety culture.
