Job summary

Coastal Waste & Recycling seeks an experienced Diesel Technician B (Advanced Technician) to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty trucks and equipment, expanding technical expertise and working with Master Technicians.

You’ll perform preventive maintenance, repairs, welding when qualified, and respond to emergency calls while upholding OSHA safety standards.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience maintaining or repairing diesel trucks or heavy equipment.
• Basic knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, brakes and preventive maintenance.
• Valid driver\'s license with clean driving record.
• Must provide and maintain a basic set of professional tools.
• ASE certifications, Brake Certification, Class A CDL, refuse industry experience, and bilingual skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, steering, suspension, transmissions, and air brake systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections to maximize the reliability of our trucks and equipment.
• Repair and maintain refuse trucks, vocational vehicles, trailers, and heavy equipment.
• Utilize diagnostic software and electronic testing equipment to identify equipment failures.
• Perform welding, fabrication, and component repairs when qualified.
• Accurately complete repair orders, inspections, maintenance documentation, and parts records.
• Work alongside Diesel Technician A (Master Technician)s while continuing to build your technical knowledge and skills.
• Respond to emergency repairs and operational needs as assigned.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and promote a strong safety culture.
