Overview

This is a rotating PRN position at Arnett Hospital. The role works within X‑ray, fluoroscopy, and the OR. The technologist performs diagnostic radiographic procedures for radiological diagnosis in a timely fashion, while demonstrating the appropriate knowledge and skills necessary to work with patients from pediatric through geriatric. They follow physician instructions, prepare and operate equipment, and position patients correctly to record the requested diagnostic images. The technologist displays leadership characteristics by volunteering for improvement initiatives and intra/interdepartmental committees, seeking new ways to improve team collaboration and success, functioning as a subject matter expert, and acting as a mentor to assist in team development and coaching. Advanced responsibilities may include acting as an onboarding/orientation preceptor, serving as clinical instructor for students, providing and leading annual CE opportunities for team members, and acting as the operations leader during the absence of a team lead/supervisor.

  • Basic Life Support certification, required.
  • Active status as a Registered Technologist – Radiography, RT(R) through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Radiologic Technologist.
  • 3–5 years experience as a radiology diagnostic technologist, preferred.
  • Ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
