Job summary

IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN is seeking an Advanced Diagnostic Radiology Technologist for a full-time, day shift (four 10-hour days). You will perform radiographic procedures across pediatric to geriatric patients, follow physicians' instructions, and ensure high-quality diagnostic images.

Prior to start, BLS certification is required; active RT(R) with ARRT and Indiana ISDH licensure. 3–5 years radiology experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Required Basic Life Support certification (BLS).
• Active ARRT RT(R) registration.
• Indiana ISDH license as Radiologic Technologist.
• 3–5 years radiology diagnostic technologist experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate leadership by mentoring staff, leading initiatives and precepting students when needed.

Job description

This Advanced Diagnostic Radiology Technologist opportunity is a full-time, day shift position at IU Health Methodist Hospital. The schedule consists of four 10-hour shifts, Monday through Thursday, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. This role does not require call coverage and includes rotating holiday responsibilities.

Job Duties, Responsibilities, and Qualifications:

Performs diagnostic radiographic procedures for radiological diagnosis, in a timely fashion, while demonstrating the appropriate knowledge and skills necessary to work with patients from pediatric through geriatric. Follows physician's instructions, prepares and operates equipment and positions patients correctly in order to record the requested diagnostic images. Displays leadership characteristics by volunteering for improvement initiatives and intra/interdepartmental committees, seeking new ways to improve team collaboration and success, functioning as a subject matter expert, and acting as a mentor to assist in team development and coaching. Advanced responsibilities may include acting as an onboarding/orientation preceptor, serving as clinical instructor for students, providing and leading annual CE opportunities for team members, acting as the operations leader during the absence of a team lead/supervisor.

• Basic Life Support certification, required.
• Requires active status as a Registered Technologist - Radiography, RT(R) through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Requires current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Radiologic Technologist.
• 3-5 years experience as a radiology diagnostic technologist, preferred.
• Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
