Job summary

The role requires an RRT credential, state licensure, BLS, and the ability to work independently in fast-paced environments, with strong communication and documentation within the EMR.

Qualifications

• Registered RRT credential required.
• Current state license as Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; advanced certifications per facility.
• Graduate of an approved school of Respiratory Therapy; AS degree required; BS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of oxygen delivery modes and equipment for adequate oxygenation.
• Administer therapeutic procedures and perform diagnostic procedures as per policy.
• Initiate and maintain mechanical/non-invasive ventilation; monitor therapy.
• Evaluate therapies and recommend care plans and patient education.
• Document therapy results and communicate with healthcare team.
• Perform blood sampling analysis and interpret results.
• Work independently across patient care areas; proficient with EMR system.
• Follow safety guidelines and complete regulatory requirements; annual proficiency.
