Job summary

Option Care Health is seeking a Compounding Technician II to support pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications in a clean-room setting. The role involves accurate compounding, basic math, and maintaining compliance with state regulations.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years of pharmacy tech experience, a valid CPhT, and state licensing as applicable, with responsibilities including equipment calibration and temperature logs, plus mentorship of Technicians I.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy technician experience.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) and licensed or registered (if required by the state).

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacist with the preparation and dispensing of medications and supplies in accordance with OCH policies & procedures, and state regulations & standards.
• Prepares medications so they are accurately compounded.
• Performs basic pharmaceutical calculations to obtain correct dosages.
• Assist with ensuring quality standards by reviewing and inspecting compounded & packaged medications.
• Ensures all compounding and packaging is inspected and approved by a licensed pharmacist.
• Calibrates equipment to ensure accurate functioning.
• Maintains pharmacy temperature & cleaning logs.
• Trains and mentors Compounding Technician I's.
