Qualifications

  • 4+ years in billing, accounts receivable, or related financial operations.
  • Experience preparing and processing invoices in high-volume environments.
  • Strong Excel skills for analysis, reporting, and reconciliation.
  • Experience with government contracting environments a plus.
  • Attention to detail and ability to support audits and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and process customer invoices per policies and contracts.
  • Generate FFP, T&M, and commercial invoices and maintain records.
  • Support monthly billing goals and high-volume invoice processing.
  • Ensure data accuracy in financial systems and compliance with GAAP.
  • Assist audits by maintaining audit-ready documentation and resolving discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with program teams to improve billing processes and automate where possible.

We're seeking an experienced Advanced Billing Associate to support customer billing, financial compliance, and revenue operations within a highly regulated government contracting environment. In this role, you'll be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and processing customer invoices while ensuring compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, and government contract requirements.

What You'll Do:
  • Prepare, review, and process customer invoices in accordance with company policies and contractual requirements.
  • Generate and maintain Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Time & Materials (T&M), and commercial invoices.
  • Support monthly billing goals by accurately processing high volumes of invoice transactions.
  • Maintain billing records and financial system data to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Monitor invoice status and assist with reducing billing cycle times and improving collections.
  • Support internal and external audit activities by maintaining audit-ready documentation.
  • Validate billing information and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, company policies, and applicable regulations.
  • Research and resolve billing discrepancies, customer inquiries, and invoice issues.
  • Partner with program teams, finance professionals, and business stakeholders to improve billing processes.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, reporting enhancements, and continuous process improvements.
Job Requirements
What You'll Bring:
  • 4+ years of experience in billing, accounts receivable, finance, accounting, government contract administration, or related financial operations.
  • 2+ years of experience preparing and processing customer invoices in a high-volume environment.
  • 2+ years of experience working with financial systems, ERP systems, accounting software, or billing platforms.
  • 2+ years of experience supporting audit requirements, financial compliance, or internal controls.
  • 2+ years of experience using Microsoft Excel for financial analysis, reporting, and reconciliation activities.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline strongly preferred.
